On July 9, the International Symposium on "Contemporary Chinese Literature and Art Development and the Construction of Literary Discourse" and the 19th Annual Conference of the Chinese Society of Chinese and Foreign Literature and Art Theory were held in Zhejiang Hotel, Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. Mr. Li Zhan from the Department of Journalism and Communication of the School of Media&Communication was invited to attend the symposium and delivered an exchange speech.

The topics of this conference are directly related to the major real-life issues of today, aiming to discover new situations, raise new questions and share new insights, discuss the development of contemporary Chinese literature and art and the construction of the literary discourse, and help build a new national humanities and social sciences discourse system. The two-day conference, with eight offline sessions and five online sessions, featured lively exchanges and discussions on topics such as the creative transformation of traditional Chinese literary theory, the development and construction of contemporary Chinese literary theory, the practical use and practice of Western literary theory resources, new media literature, AI, post-humanity, the object turn, the meta-universe and literary innovation, and literary aesthetics and other issues.

Mr. Li Zhan's multi-layered interpretation of the poetic features of literary classics from the perspective of ontology is quite enlightening for contemporary literature and art. In addition, Mr. Li Zhan also participated in a special session on the topic of new media literature, engaging in discussions on digital technology, artificial intelligence, metaverse and online literature, and screen/world.

This seminar aims to explore new expressions, directions, and forms in the construction of the discourse system of literary and artistic theory, and to expand the discourse space of literary and artistic theory in the present. Actively participating in the academic conference and making exchange presentations, while showcasing the latest research results of the teachers, also reflects the professional research capability and level of the school and the college, which has a positive effect on strengthening professional exchanges and enhancing the social influence and research development of the profession.
